Welcome to The Raw Entrepawneur’s Season 1 episode 54! Today’s episode is with Merán Ríos, Raw Pet Wellness Coach from Puerto Rico! She’s making waves and educating pet parents in Puerto Rico and the Hispanic community at large on the benefits of alternative holistic solutions to help their companion animals. This is her story. Merán Ríos Bio: I started in the pet world in 2007 when I started working for a veterinarian as a receptionist and a part time groomer. I was always interested in having my dogs in top shape so I would follow every veterinarian recommendation. One of my dogs started suffering from allergies and skin problems and would only get better on meds and then problems would return as soon as the medicine would be out of her system. After years of the ongoing problem I started looking for healthier food options and discovered raw food but wasn't ready to make the change so I started with human grade dehydrated food. It took me about 4 years to finally make the switch to raw since I didn't know anyone that could help me I started searching for information online and started on the fresh food journey. In 2011 I advanced in my grooming career as an International Certified Master Groomer. I had always helped my clients better their pets nutrition for healthier skin and coat. Since I wasn't a vet or vet tech most of my clients would not follow through with my diet recommendations. So in 2018 I enrolled in DMU and completed my Raw Dog Food Nutrition Specialist. It was then that I decided to open my Page on FB and help people that wanted to learn how to feed a raw diet. In 2019 I became a Professional Dog Trainer and expanded my services to help my clients have more balanced and healthier dogs. I currently have 6 dogs at home, 2 with my parents, a mini horse and a thoroughbred.
